Contract Administrator


The role

Our electricity network spans between the Waimakariri and Rakaia rivers and stretches from Banks Peninsula to the foot of Arthur’s pass.  Operating this network in a safe and reliable way is vital to ensure our community stays safe and resilient into the future.

As part of our Procurement and Property Services team you will have input into the preparation and administration of high quality contract tenders for construction or maintenance work on our electricity network. These works span overhead, underground, substation and property maintenance based contracts.

The candidate

Your proven administration skills, together with your excellent communication and relationship building skills will underpin your success in this role. In addition you will bring a demonstrated focus on learning and continuous improvement and the ability to work in a collaborative and respectful manner with your colleagues and customers at all times.

You will also have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification or a proven work history in contract administration

  • demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility for deliverables, including meeting deadlines

  • a strong focus on teamwork and providing excellent service to your customers

  • excellent computer skills including word, excel and database management

  • a working knowledge of New Zealand standard NZS3910 – Conditions of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction is an advantage

  • an understanding of the regulatory environment as it applies to the electricity industry in New Zealand is an advantage.
