Network Operator

The role

We’re looking for a registered electrician to join our team as a Network Operator.  The Network Operators are a specialist team within Orion who are the first responders to faults and responsible for making sites safe for maintenance and other work on our electrical network across Canterbury.

This role is varied and much of the time you will be out working on the network in both urban and rural areas as far afield as Banks Peninsula. Your day could include anything from carrying out electrical network switching procedures on LV and HV equipment to attending faults at customer premises. Our network operators are our eyes and ears on the network and are in continuous contact with our network control centre undertaking fault finding and providing updates regarding broken power lines, damaged cables and other situations in the field.
