Our electricity network spans between the Waimakariri and Rakaia rivers and stretches from Banks Peninsula to the foot of Arthur’s pass. Operating this network in a safe and reliable way is vital to ensure our community stays safe and resilient into the future.
Our Network Operators are the eyes and ears on our network and are first responders to faults. They are responsible for making sites safe prior to maintenance and any other work being undertaken on our network. Through the development and standardisation of competency standards and the creation of innovative training and assessments, this role will be responsible for ensuring our Network Operators have the knowledge and capability to work safely on our network.
You will be highly motivated to work with and mentor others with a real desire to help people learn and grow in their roles. You will be an excellent communicator, both in the technical and general sense and able to connect with people at all levels. Your knowledge of the transmission/distribution system coupled with experience in the field of technical training and assessment will make you an ideal candidate for this role.
In addition you will have:
a relevant tertiary qualification
experience in the maintenance and operation of electrical systems and equipment
electrical registration with associated current practicing licence
a current driving licence
the capacity to work outside normal hours on occasion.
