Operations Support Trainee


 

The role

Safely keeping the power on for our customers is our number one priority and we rely on sophisticated technology to enable us to do this.  Our PowerOn network management system allows us to view our electricity network in a live environment and we’re looking for a capable individual to join us as an Operations Support Trainee. Reporting to our Operations Improvement Lead, you will help us to develop and maintain this system.

About you

We are looking for a self-motivated team player with integrity and resilience who is up to the challenge of continuous learning and who understands the critical importance of safety and meeting the needs of customers at all times.

To be successful in this role you will have an interest in or understanding of the network management systems and SCADA. You must have a strong customer focus and an ability to get things done.

You will also have:

  • a level 6 tertiary qualification (NDE or NZCE)
  • electrical registration with a current practicing license would be an advantage
  • a working knowledge of the NZ transmission/distribution system would be an advantage
  • a 'can-do' attitude and work effectively as part of a team
