Network Transformation Lead (Operations)


Due to continued growth, we have created a Network Transformation Lead role within Operations reporting directly to our Head of Operations. You will play a key role in the deployment of our operational solutions to ensure we are well prepared for a changing energy environment and enable a transition to a low carbon future with an important focus on our network.

The role

  • Refine the Orion network transformation roadmap while maintaining oversight of various operational strategies
  • Develop and present business cases for network transformation projects and support our research, development and pilot programme works
  • Lead and support Orion’s participation in industry and public forums in relation to distribution system and network operations and network transformation
  • Contribute to the design of systems and processes to provide visibility and understanding of the network operation and performance
  • Assist in Orion progressing toward a Distributed System Operator (DSO) and contribute to standardising Distributed Energy Resources (DER) requirements

About you

  • You’ll come with a depth of leadership experience in an electricity network operations environment with the relevant qualification in Power Engineering
  • Ability to work at a high strategic level to understand and apply Orion’s strategic objectives
  • A strong understanding of the electricity supply industry – particularly distribution)
  • Proven track record in developing innovative solutions through new ways of doing things with a ‘big picture’ approach
  • Experience in writing business cases, piloting programs, research and development
  • Ability to connect across the business with strong influencing skills
